Al-Zaidi (surname)
The surname Al-Zaidi (Az-Zaidi) can denote one or both of the following:
- Sayyid Arab descendents of Zayd bin Ali that either stayed in Kufa, Iraq or returned to Al-Hijaz and migrated to Northern Yemen (Asir and the Highlands). They are usually Zaidis [1] or converted to Twelver Shiism or Sunnism
- Those adhering to the Zaidi Maddhab[2] and may or may not be Sayyid. This use of the surname Al-Zaidi is akin to the use of the surnames Al-Hanafi, Al-Maliki, Al-Shafi'i, etc...

- Muntadhar al-Zaidi (born 1979), Iraqi broadcast journalist who serves as a correspondent for Iraqi-owned, Egyptian-based Al-Baghdadia TV
- Ali Mabrouk El Zaidi (born 1978), Libyan long-distance runner
